The Muse Hotel ★★★★

Location was excellent; our room was surprisingly nice; breakfast was varied and good; staff was excellent.

Central location between station 1 and 2. Step right out onto the beach, however there is a boat station right in front. Breakfast was quite average, but the views from the restaurant made up for it.

@6000 PHP per night, it was quite expensive for what it was. However, it did meet our requirement in terms of location and access to the beach.

no easy access from main road so need to carry luggage into the walkway which is a construction site and needed to drag luggage to the beach as it is located beachfront (just bear in mind if you have a lot of luggage) rooms need updating, moldy toilet

The rooms are spacious. We liked the view from the room. The swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was awesome and we were able to sit where we could see the beach front.

The elevator is small and slow.

The location is at station 1 and a short walk to d’mall which was so convenient, the size of the room was great, beds were comfortable, room has smart tv. It was low season when we were there so we almost had the deck and jacuzzi for ourselves. Staff were wonderful! Food was also good.

Lobby is not accessible by vehicles. Going to the hotel from the main road was a bit of a walk. Better to bring a backpack than a luggage. Toilet was a bit slippery, grab bars would be nice. Room service/restaurant was hard to reach, usually doesn’t answer calls but the front desk was able to assist us. But we really had a nice stay at the hotel.

Pool was not working (renovating) and we were not informed about it. Breakfast a la carte, but very limited option (i guess its due to off season) Rooms are a bit old, like furniture, bathroom tiles... WiFi signal in room very poor, but okay in the lobby

Beachfront and very cheerful staff. Breakfast buffet is ok. The massage spa inside the hotel is also really good too. We enjoyed our stay and we might book it again in the future.

Internet connection is really bad on the third floor where we stayed other than that we enjoyed our stay.

We like the location of the hotel coz it’s in the beachfront. Staff are very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is acceptable but it can be more better like (fresh fruits and child food option.)

The room was great, the bed comfortable. I had great sleep. The pool was refreshing. Breakfast was good enough for me. People are the best.

The hotel is at great location. Close to everything.

The internet connection in our room was bad.

Property’s location was fair. It was in proximity to restaurants and cafés. D’mall was a short walk too. It will be nice to watch the sunset on this side of the island if the weather was good. However when we visited, it was overcast most days and the beach had strong waves even on low tide. Transport going to and from the hotel was available for an extra fee. It was easy enough to avail this as communication with the hotel was a breeze. I booked a premier twin room with sea view. There were three of us so I had to pay additional fees for the third person. This included an extra bed and free breakfast. The room itself was huge enough for three persons. There was a jacuzzi right outside of the room, but it was not operational for most of our stay (probably because of the weather). The view was fair because it was obstructed by trees and there was a construction ongoing on the next building. Daily housekeeping was available so the room was kept clean and bottled waters were topped up everday. However, there were a few cracks on the fixtures. The toilet flush is a little bit slow, and shower temperature was a little bit unpredictable. The facilities needs to be updated. Rusts and cracks are visible. The elevator was small and sometimes smell. The pool was okay, but it was not heated. The restaurant could have more alfresco space. The breakfast buffet was a tad disappointing. Breakfast is at 6-10am. There was a day we had late breakfast at 9am, and the food was almost gone and they didn’t even have the most basic condiment which is butter. The selections were limited so the fee for the breakfast was not worth at all. Outside the breakfast buffet, Nalka, the restaurant offer delectable food choices. The staff were amazing. They were very accommodating. They had good recommendations on restos, cafés, and activities to do. They were easy to talk to even on days they were working overtime.

Overall, our stay at the Muse Hotel was fair. If you’re after a location that is in proximity of everything, Muse hotel is worth booking. If seclusion is more important for you, then the location of this hotel is not advisable.

The hotel looks quite different from the photos. The hotel needs a retouch as the finishings are quite old. The shower area did not drain properly (i think due to flooring). The bath mats were quite discolored. Worst was the really bad smell outside our rooms. We were on the 2nd floor. Smelled fishy. I think maybe it came from the restaurant.
